Cost of 1 Unit of Electricity
The cost of 1 unit of electricity in Punjab is different for all consumers as it varies from different categories like industrial and domestic. Also, fuel prices affect the cost of electricity; thus, the cost of 1 unit can’t be constant.
However, it varies from 15-25pkr depending upon the units consumed as it is different for the first 100 units and keeps increasing with electricity usage.
To get the accurate value, you have to contact the local supplier of the region because a specific region also affects the cost of electricity.
FESCO Bill Taxes/Calculator
Every tax will be mentioned in your FESCO online bill but if you want to calculate your Bill, you have to understand all the taxes applied on your electric units consumed, and here you can get all the information about the taxes imposed by the government.
There are two types of charges imposed on the FESCO Bill
- Distribution Company Charges
- Government Charges/Taxes
Distribution Company Charges
Cost of Electricity: The electricity units consumed for the whole month during peak and off-peak hours. It can be calculated by multiplying the units consumed with their according peak/off-peak hour charges.
FPA: It is the adjustment according to fuel prices as most of the electricity in Pakistan is produced by Oil/petrol; thus Pakistan Govt. imposes the tax of FPA on the Bill.
QTR Tariff ADJ/DMC: These are the distribution margin charges collected by the electricity company according to the allocated percentage.
F.C Surcharge: It is the finance cost by FESCO and can be calculated as 0.43pkr x units consumed
Government Charges
Electricity Duty: This is the amount Govt. of Pakistan charges over the cost of electricity and distribution margin charges
TV Fee: Every month amount of 35 PKR is charged by govt. in the electricity bills
GST: It is the govt. Sales tax and 17% of the (Cost of electricity + QTR Tariff ADJ/DMC + F.C Surcharge + Electricity duty) is charged as GST by govt.
N.J Surcharge: The Neelam Jehlum Charge can be calculated by multiplying the units consumed with 0.10 pkr.
ED on FPA: That is another duty charged by govt. on the price of FPA with a rate of 1.5%.
GST on FPA: This is 17% of the (FPA + ED on FPA)
In Case of Late Payment
L.P Surcharge: Last date will be mentioned in your FESCO online bill. If you do not pay the bill within the due date, you will be overcharged with a late payment surcharge that is the 10% of (Cost of electricity + QTR Tariff ADJ/DMC + FC Surcharge + NJ Surcharge)
